Costa Rica Hotel Guide

Accommodation in Costa Rica varies considerably, and because this small, idyllic country is becoming progressively more inundated with tourists,
the expansion of hotel chains and other lodgings in the country has been inevitable, and is on the increase.

Most hotels in Costa Rica are relatively inexpensive to stay in, but guests will still find themselves in a clean, safe and comfortable environment
with basic lodging needs being satisfactorily met. Hotel accommodation rates can vary radically, depending on amenities, services, and location.
These rates fluctuate from low-budget family accommodation as low as $9 per night, to those who prefer to splurge on luxury accommodation costing in the region of $300 per night.

Costa Rica offers an extensive medley of accommodation; from posh hotels set against heavenly backgrounds, bungalows at the volcanic hot springs, secluded lodges in the rain forest and mountains, resorts, condos or villas along the coastline, to low-cost hostels in the metropolis - there is a whole host of options for the exhausted tourist, with the most diverse environments, from which to choose. For those seeking these more luxurious havens, the renowned hotel chains, such as the Hotel Marriott, Hotel Radisson or the Arenal Paraiso Hotel (which is near one of the main attractions - the Arenal volcano), are usually the favourites amongst the more affluent tourists.

Along the Central and Southern Pacific coast, visitors can find a wide choice of lodgings. This assortment includes small, friendly hotels, budget hotels, luxury resorts and superbly upmarket hotels. A little further South tourists will come across smaller, secluded hotels and cabins. The Osa Peninsula boasts several internationally acclaimed jungle lodges that are situated in a scenic rainforest environment, and which bestow red carpet services to the guests. On the Caribbean side, holiday-makers will experience a pastoral feel, also with remote jungle lodges amidst the natural beauty of this tropical paradise.

Costa Rican hotels cater for every demand and every pocket. The friendly, hospitable people of Costa Rica ensure that the guests are well cared for, and that they will leave their holiday destination feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The lush tropical flora, the sparkling crystal clear waters off the coastlines, the exciting adventure and sporting activities such as surfing, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and, for some, a game of golf, are just some of the leisurely attractions at the hotels in Costa Rica that are guaranteed to leave visitors feeling just that - refreshed and rejuvenated.
